Background
Ready-made reading glasses have the same strength in both lenses. Many users need a different strength in each eye, and their need changes over time. Today they compromise, buy several pairs or buy prescription glasses.

Product concept
The user removes a lens by hand and fits another strength from the gift box. The frame should look and feel like ordinary reading glasses.

Intended use
By hand, in a few seconds, without tools.

Functional requirements
Each lens can be removed and fitted on its own, by hand, without tools.
The lens must not come loose during wear, cleaning or transport.
Nothing in the field of view. The glasses look like ordinary reading glasses.
The user feels a distinct click when the lens is in place.

Packaging
Each box holds the frame and four strengths, left and right. The boxes overlap by two strengths, so a buyer between two boxes can choose either.

The design shown is a neutral suggestion: natural paper and a moulded insert where every lens has its own place, labelled with its strength. Materials and construction are up to the manufacturer.
